Power Management System (PMS)

Functionally “Power Management System” (PMS) refers to an efficient robust system designed to suite indoor and outdoor requirements, which can manage the power requirements at the un-manned Base Stations (BTS) and provide a single point control & monitoring facility for superior, efficient operational performance.

The PMS has to continuously monitor the input mains supply voltage and regulates the output supply given to the equipment. PMS need to control & monitor the diesel generator performance. With the input mains supply failure, the unit must automatically switch on to the diesel generator unit and transfers the load. PMS also expected to have built in operation logic where by the user would be able to set the generator ON / OFF time based on BTS room temperature and Battery Voltage.

Along with the power management function PMS can also aid to monitor the auxiliary functions like door open, fire/smoke alarms etc.

Before

After

1

High cost to procure panels from different manufacturers for different purposes.

Huge Cost reduction took place as everything comes from single manufacturer as a single unit.

2

Higher raw material cost for different panels and also huge space requirement  and lot of interconnections from one panel to another required

Huge reduction in cost as there is reduction in space for different panels, raw material and interconnections reduced and increased robustness

3

Operator has to stay at site location to monitor the performance of the site.

Operator can view data through GPRS network and can assess the performance and condition of the site from any remote region.

Saving in Power Consumption
Reduction in maintenance cost.
Increase in productivity
Energy savings

Product Features:
  • Optimized DG Utilization
  • Unique feature of monitoring the power plant battery conditions and controlling the charging
  • Separate LCD displays
  • Displays Mains, DG and DC energy
  • Single phase. 230VAC, Current 18A max,

Salient Features:

PMS is a combination of AMF Controller and AVR. Automatic static Voltage Regulator (AVR) continuously monitors the input mains supply voltage and regulates the supply given to the equipment. AVR covers wide input supply range 240-485V (P-P) & 155-280V (P-N) and gives stable output voltage of 230V (+/- 10%). The AMF continuously monitors the AVR output voltage and generator performance. With the AVR supply failure, depending on the DG enables or disables status, the unit automatically switches ON to the diesel generator unit and transfers load to DG
